Why Do People Judge Their Kitchens The Most?

March 12th, 2010 · No Comments · Kitchen Improvements

Every house has an argument over how the kitchen needs to be done at some point, and why not make it a nice designer kitchen if you have the money. How big do you really need the kitchen? Do you really need one of those big fancy designer kitchens wine its own built in wine cooler? To be honest I don’t think I will ever quite understand why people need such big kitchens when all they are used for is cooking and the occasional party. So how come people will spend so much money on thier brand new kitchen when they only use it once a day to cook in? I really don’t have a clue to be honest

The real reason behind it I think comes down to how you like to compete with all your friends in how big or small the kitchen is.

The first thing a new guest to a house does it go into the kitchen. That is the first thing somebody will do when they get into someone’s house, they will walk straight into the kitchen and compare it to their own. It’s one of the human being’s worse attributes, to judge everyone else. I don’t understand why, I never will but we do, so on with the question; how big and fancy does the kitchen need to be before people recognise it as being a half decent kitchen? If people are going to judge everything from your flooring to your choice of dinnerware, is there much point trying to impress at all?

Over the years there has always been discussions on whether or not to extend for a biger kitchen or not. I wouldn’t get a big kitchen myself. The kitchen is usually only used to cook dinner in my house so the thing is an expensive kitchen would be quite a silly investment. So why after having people round to you feel the need to expand the size of the kitchen? People care about the opinions of their friends and family, thats why and I have never understood that. As well as this there are some fantastic top of the range kitchens out there as well as the bespoke kitchens that you design yourself. You can customise everything from your lighting plan to the style of your wine rack Still, I really don’t see the point of forking out so much money for something you use once or twice a day.
